How to play Zole
Deck: 26 cards — A, 10, K, Q, J, 9 of all suits, plus 8♦ and 7♦. Total card points: 120.
Trumps (14): All Queens and Jacks (strongest), then A♦, 10♦, K♦, 9♦, 8♦, 7♦.
Bidding: Each player gets one chance to bid. Bid Lielais to play alone, Mazais to win by taking zero tricks, or pass. If all pass, play Galds (everyone for themselves).
Lielais: The solo player must collect ≥61 card points to win. They may pick up the 2-card talon or pass it to the opponents.
Trick rules: Must follow suit (trumps are their own suit). Highest trump wins if any played; otherwise highest card of led suit wins.
Scoring: Lielais wins: +2 points. Lielais loses: −2. Special outcomes (clean wins/losses, Melnais, Mazais) adjust the multiplier.
